We produced high-resolution (~18,000 dpi) digital scans of tree cores using a GigaMacro imaging system (Four Chambers Studio, LLC, Napa, CA, USA.)

University of Minnesota forest entomologists scanned tree cores at roughly 18,000 dpi on a GIGAmacro system to link tree defences to bark beetle success.
