The 2026 Magnify2 includes major upgrades that enhance capture speed, improve usability and enhance workflow.

Magnify2 2026  Upgrades are available to retrofit to 2025 and earlier systems.

GIGAmacro Control Box V2

The GIGAmacro Control Box V2 is a major upgrade for the Magnify2 imaging system. It’s been redesigned from the inside out to simplify setup, improve performance, and add powerful new features that expand system capability and throughput. New features include:

  • Higher XYZ axis speeds (200% faster) resulting in shorter capture times.
  • Independent speed controls for X, Y and Z axes. Allows for fine control of movement when adjusting boundaries with live view.
  • Upgraded power supplies and electronics.
  • Additional Control Box LCD / Capture Software feedback for limits and emergency stop(s).
  • New optional external emergency stop.
  • New ports for future options such as LED lighting.
  • Upgraded control box enclosure.

GIGAmacro Capture Software Upgrade

Featuring numerous interface improvements, automated startup process, and support for new V2 control boxes.

  • Computer Connection:
    • Automatically connects to last USB port used.
    • Auto detection of the control box port.
  • Preset User Data Location:
    • Per User projects and data stores
    • Quickly switch between projects and data stores.
    • Specify a default project data director for each user.
    • Select the preset with a single click.
  • Automatic Project Updating:
    • When camera, lens, boundaries and overlap settings are adjusted, the project is automatically updated and recalculated.
  • Support for V2 Control Box
      • For V2, added new speed controls, limits status indicators, and presets.
      • For V2, power savings auto sleep for backlight and motors if idle for X number of minutes.
      • Original control box fully supported but does not include new items specific to the V2 control box.
  • Interface Improvements:
    • Easier to ready columns / rows / stacks info.
    • Display of capture grid by default in larger size.
    • Ability to toggle between capture grid and photo screen.
    • Capture screen greatly simplified and easier to see progress and status of capture.
    • Moved set home buttons to new location and added confirmation to prevent accidental clicks.
    • Indicators to show when lens and depth of field are not using default presets.

Scalable Macro Imaging 2026 Upgrades

GIGAmacro Mini Light Arms

These adjustable mini light arms replace the current large-scale magic arms on the pre 2026 GIGAmacro Magnify2 imaging system. The arms allow for positioning of the flash heads and are a major upgrade in usability.

  • The bar mounts to the front Z axis slide on the system with two easy to install bolts.
  • Each arm has a reach of 9.5” and can be adjusted to a variety of positions to allow for precise positioning of the lighting on the system.

GIGAmacro Magnify2 Camera Quick Release Upgrade

This simple to install upgrade enables easier and quicker secure camera changes on the pre-2026 GIGAmacro Magnify2 system. The adapter uses the system’s existing dual camera slides, converting the rig to an ARCA-style mounting for the camera. This allows for faster, more precise attachment and easier exchange of the cameras while maintaining optical alignment and stability.

  • The adapter plate can be used with the existing Manfrotto rig slides.
  • Two ARCA-style mounting plates are included
  • To switch cameras, simply release the silver locking lever and lift the camera off the rail.
