Doxocopa linda form selina (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae: Apaturinae) – Linda’s emperor from Peru, a specimen historically treated with mercury salts to prevent damage from dermestid beetles.

Specimens and identifications provided by Dr. John E. Rawlins and his staff from the research collections of the Section of Invertebrate Zoology, Carnegie Museum of Natural History.

This 1.6 gigapixel macro photograph was created from over 8,000 individual photographs. Specimen provided by the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.
